Our Mission
Adventure has shaped my life — from 20 years as a firefighter to leading emergency response teams overseas. But no matter where the job took me, my heart always drifted back to the mountains, the trails, and the dogs who walked them by my side. For more than a decade, my loyal black Labrador, Alfie, was my shadow on every Scottish adventure. Together we crossed wild ridgelines, wandered quiet glens, and completed the West Highland Way four times. He taught me the meaning of companionship, trust, and shared adventure — lessons that still guide me today. Now I explore with Nevis, my gentle 5‑year‑old Bernese Mountain Dog. He may take life at a slower pace, but he loves the outdoors with the same steady, soulful enthusiasm. Every trail with him is a reminder to breathe deeper, walk softer, and appreciate the small moments that make each journey meaningful. As I prepare to return home from overseas, I’m building Bark & Trek — a dog-friendly adventure business focused on safe, beautiful, mostly sheep‑free guided walks across the Lake District, Northumberland, Scotland and the UK. My mission is simple: to help people experience unforgettable outdoor experiences with dogs, just as I have with mine.
